  1. While agree that the aspargus is a great vegetable to eat, I must say it has one big disadvantage: the smelly farts one produces after eating it.

    In quantity of gas and sound production, the bean wins easily of course, as the following anecdotal evidence proves:

    “There once was a man from Sparta
    who was a magnificent farter.
    On the strength of one bean,
    he’d fart “God save the Queen”
    and Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata.”

    But the smell -please, o aspargus, forgive me these harsh words – the infernal smell of the aspargus fart…
